Army jawan killed as Pak violates ceasefire amid Eid in J&K

Jammu: An Indian Army jawan was killed on Saturday when the Pakistani Rangers opened firing in Nowshera block of Jammu and Kashmir.

The ceasefire violation comes amid celebrations of holy festival of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The jawan killed in firing has been identified as Sepoy Bikas Gurung

As per the media reports, the Pakistani Rangers used heavy mortar shelling targetting at Indian posts across the border.

The holy month of Ramzan has witnessed over 10 such incidents of firing by the Pakistani troops in which several Indian soldiers were martyred.

Earlier on Wednesday, four Border Security Force personnel were gunned down in ceasefire violation by Pakistan in the Ramgarh sector along the International border.
