ACC Grants Two-Year Extension to Nitesh Kumar Vyas as Additional Secretary in Ministry of Home Affairs

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has officially sanctioned the extension of the central deputation tenure for Shri Nitesh Kumar Vyas, a senior IAS officer of the 1996 Madhya Pradesh cadre. Shri Vyas currently serves as the Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).

According to the official order, the committee has approved the proposal to retain the seasoned administrator in his high-profile role for an additional period of two years. His tenure, which was previously scheduled to conclude soon, has now been extended beyond May 30, 2026, keeping him in office until May 30, 2028, or until further orders, whichever occurs earlier.

The decision to extend Shri Vyas’s tenure at North Block is seen as a strategic move to ensure administrative continuity within the Ministry of Home Affairs.
