Three Senior ISS Officers Appointed to Key Government Positions by ACC

In a major administrative development, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has cleared the posting of three senior officers from the Indian Statistical Service (ISS) to important positions across diverse ministries and departments. The appointments highlight the growing role of data-driven governance and administrative expertise in critical policy areas.

Mr Siljo V. K., ISS (2004)
Mr Siljo V. K. has been appointed as Deputy Director General (DDG) in the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), functioning under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. His tenure will extend for five years from the date he assumes charge, or until further orders. He succeeds Mr Manish Bhardwaj, IAS (Gujarat: 1997).

Ms Hema Jaiswal, ISS (2004)
Ms. Hema Jaiswal has been selected to serve as Executive Director in the Food Corporation of India (FCI), which operates under the Department of Food and Public Distribution. Her term will last for five years or until further instructions, whichever occurs earlier. She replaces Mr Akhilesh Misra, IRSME (1995).

Mr Gaya Prasad, ISS (1996)
Mr Gaya Prasad has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). He will continue in this capacity until his superannuation on July 31, 2028, or until further orders. He succeeds Mr Mihir Kumar, IDAS (1996).

These appointments reaffirm the government’s commitment to utilizing the analytical and statistical acumen of ISS officers in leadership roles critical to digital infrastructure, food security, and internal administration.
