The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has granted approval to the Ministry of Food Processing Industries for extending the deputation tenure of Mr Abhishek Narang, an Indian Revenue Service (IRS–Income Tax) officer from the 2008 batch.
Mr Narang currently serves as Private Secretary to the Union Minister for Food Processing Industries,Mr Chirag Paswan, where he plays a crucial role in coordinating ministerial engagements, policy matters, and administrative operations related to the ministry’s key initiatives.
As per the ACC’s decision, his deputation has been extended for a further period of six months beyond December 31, 2025, enabling continuity in the minister’s office during an important phase for the food processing sector. The extension will remain valid until further orders or until the end of the six-month period—whichever occurs earlier.
This approval ensures continued support to the Minister’s office as the ministry advances its programmes focusing on industrial growth, value addition, and expansion of India’s food processing ecosystem.
