ACC Approves Six-Month Extension for IRS Officer Abhishek Narang as Private Secretary to Union Minister Chirag Paswan
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has granted approval to a proposal submitted by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries seeking an extension of the deputation tenure of Mr Abhishek Narang, an IRS (Income Tax) officer of the 2008 batch.
Mr Narang is currently serving as the Private Secretary to the Union Minister for Food Processing Industries, Mr Chirag Paswan.
His existing tenure was scheduled to come to an end on 31 December 2025. However, in view of administrative requirements and the need for continuity in the minister’s office, the ACC has sanctioned an additional extension of six months.
With this decision, Mr Narang will continue in his role beyond 31 December 2025, for a further period of six months, or until any subsequent orders are issued—whichever occurs earlier.
The extension reflects the ministry’s confidence in his professional capabilities and his role in supporting key policy and administrative functions within the Food Processing Industries Ministry.
