Six 2025-Batch IAS Probationers Posted to Jammu & Kashmir Under AGMUT Cadre for Training

Six probationary officers of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) from the 2025 batch have been posted to the Jammu and Kashmir segment of the AGMUT cadre as part of their mandatory cadre training. Officials confirmed the postings on Saturday, noting that the move is aimed at strengthening the administrative framework in the Union Territory while providing young officers with practical exposure to governance.

Officers Assigned to Jammu & Kashmir

The six probationers posted to the Union Territory are:

Alfred Thomas

Ruchika Jha

Nidhi

Mohd Haris Mir

Shagun Singh

Jitendra Kumar

Among them, Mohd Haris Mir is the only officer who hails from Jammu and Kashmir. The others have been allotted the UT for their probationary training under the AGMUT cadre structure, which covers several Union Territories and smaller states.

Purpose of the Posting

The arrival of these young officers is expected to inject fresh energy into the administrative machinery of Jammu and Kashmir. During their probationary period, they will:

Work under the guidance of senior officials,

Gain hands-on experience in governance and public administration,

Participate in development programs and district-level administration,

Prepare for independent responsibilities in the future.

The AGMUT cadre (Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram-Union Territories) is unique in its structure, serving multiple Union Territories and smaller states. Probationary postings in Jammu and Kashmir allow officers to:
