Priyanka M Francis Empanelled at Centre, Dr RP Meharda New Interim DGP (Rajasthan)

Priyanka Mary Francis, a 2009-batch IAS officer of the Karnataka cadre, has been empanelled for appointment as Joint Secretary or an equivalent position in the Government of India. Her empanelment, approved on June 10, 2025, marks her entry into the initial level of central deputation eligibility.

Dr RP Meharda Appointed Interim DGP (Rajasthan)

Following the appointment of Utkal Ranjan Sahu (IPS: 1988: RJ) as Chairman of the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC), the Rajasthan government has entrusted Dr. Ravi Prakash Meharda (IPS: 1990: RJ) with the additional charge of Director General of Police (DGP). Dr. Meharda is currently serving as Director General of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).

A seasoned officer, he has previously held key roles including Inspector General (IG) of Kota and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

Meanwhile, the state government has already forwarded a panel of names to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for the regular appointment of a new DGP. Leading contenders include Rajiv Sharma (IPS: 1990: RJ) and Sanjay Agarwal (IPS: 1992: RJ), with Anil Paliwal (IPS: 1994: RJ) and Anand Shrivastava (IPS: 1994: RJ) also under consideration.
