ACC Appoints Amit Satija and Niraj Kumar Gayagi as Joint Secretaries in 8th Pay Commission

Amit Satija
A 2008-batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre
Currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Department of Defence Production
Appointed as Joint Secretary in the 8th Central Pay Commission
Tenure: Up to April 16, 2028 (total five-year tenure) or until further orders
Niraj Kumar Gayagi
A 1997-batch officer of the Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS)
Currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Department of Justice
Appointed as Joint Secretary in the 8th Central Pay Commission
Tenure: Up to April 6, 2027 (overall seven-year tenure) or until further orders
Role in the 8th Pay Commission
The Eighth Central Pay Commission is expected to play a crucial role in:
