The Senior IAS officer of batch 1981 of Uttar Pradesh cadre, Balvender Kumar has joined as Secretary, Ministry of Mines. He took over the charge from Anup K Pujari IAS (KN: 1980) who is now the Secretary, Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises.
He was holding the charge of Vice-Chairman, Delhi Development Authority (DDA) under Ministry of Urban Development.He has also worked as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Noida Authority, Vice-chairman Lucknow Development Authority, Managing Director of Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation and District Magistrate in Moradabad and Rampur districts.
