A state Chief Secretary has been tipped as Secretary under Ministry of Home Affairs.
On one hand their are speculations about a Secretary-level reshuffle, a section of top sources tip that one of the state Chief Secretaries is being considered for the appointment of Secretary, Border Management (MHA).
At present 1984 batch IAS, Ajay Kumar Bhalla is holding the position of Union Home Secretary. He is holding the additional charge of the post.
The post is vacant for last two months with the abrupt repatriation of Atal Dulloo (lAS: 1989: UT) to his parent cadre with a view to appoint him as Chief Secretary in J&K.
