BJP government in Chhattisgarh led by Vishnu Deo Sai has made significant changes in the police department of the state with a major reshuffle.
The state government has transferred 45 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers along with a state police service officer lately.
In a major reshuffle, the newly-elected BJP government in Chhattisgarh transferred included the transfer of superintendents of police (SPs) in 25 districts, with some officers previously associated with the Congress government led by Bhupesh Baghel also being relocated. The state home department issued the order in the early hours of Monday.
Among the notable changes, 2005-batch IPS officer Amresh Mishra, returning from central deputation, has been appointed as the inspector general of police (IGP) for Raipur Range. Ratanlal Dangi, who served as the director of the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose State Police Academy, has been relieved of the additional charge of IGP Raipur range. Sheikh Arif Hussain, the former IGP Raipur range for districts other than Raipur, is now the IGP (North Region) of the Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) in Surguja.
