TRAI amendment bill passes in Lok Sabha

Today, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India  amendment bill has been passed in the Lok Sabha, with Congress, RJD, AAP and RSP opposing it and Trinamool Congress making a volte-face on the issue. The Bill seeks to remove a legal hurdle in appointment of former chairman of telecom regulatory body Nripendra Misra as principal secretary to the Prime Minister.
