Former Odisha IAS officer R. Balakrishnan has been posted as Director of International Institute of Tamil Studies.
A retired 1984-batch Odisha cadre IAS officer, R Balakrishnan, has been given new administrative role as the Director of the International Institute of Tamil Studies by the Tamil Nadu government. Earlier he was serving as the Development Commissioner of Odisha and as Principal Advisor to the state CM.
A distinguished Tamil author and scholar Balakrishnan is recognized for his acclaimed book – Journey of a Civilization: Indus to Vaigai.
