Project DIGIKAKSHA: Vishakha Yadav Receives Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration

IAS Officer Vishakha Yadav has received Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration.

In a major recognition of innovative governance and committed public service, Ms. Vishakha Yadav (2020 batch IAS officer), currently serving as the District Collector of Kurung Kumey, Arunachal Pradesh, has been honored with the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration 2024.

She was awarded in the “Innovation – District” category for her groundbreaking initiative, Project DIGIKAKSHA – A Vision for a Vibrant Village on the Indo-China Border. The project focuses on digitally empowering remote villages along the Indo-China border, providing technology-based solutions for education, communication, and self-sufficiency. It has been widely praised for promoting sustainable development and strengthening national integration in one of India’s most remote and sensitive regions.

Mr. V. Srinivas, Secretary of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) and a 1989 batch IAS officer, commended Ms. Yadav’s dedication and innovation, highlighting her “valuable contribution through committed and tireless efforts” in a formal letter of appreciation.

The appreciation letter has also been forwarded to the Secretary, Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) and the Chief Secretary of Arunachal Pradesh, for inclusion in Ms. Yadav’s performance appraisal dossier and Executive Record (ER) Sheet, marking a significant milestone in her administrative career.

Ms. Yadav’s achievement stands as a testament to how visionary leadership and innovative governance can drive meaningful change even in the country’s most remote corners.
