Mr. Sanjay, a 1996-batch IPS officer, was initially suspended on December 3, 2024, over accusations of misappropriating and misusing public funds during his tenure as Director General of the Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Response and Fire Services. He also faces allegations of financial irregularities in his previous role as Additional Director General of Police (CID), specifically concerning funds meant for police training under the Prevention of Atrocities Act, 1989.
The charges relate to the alleged misuse of funds allocated for training police personnel on safeguarding the rights of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

Following the allegations, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) registered a criminal case against N Sanjay on December 24, 2024, under multiple provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Suspension Review
