Odisha: IPS & OPS Officers Transferred in Minor Reshuffle

In a minor administrative reshuffle, the Odisha government has transferred one IPS officer and elevated a senior OPS officer, appointing new Superintendents of Police (SPs) for the Bhadrak and Nabarangpur districts.

The transfer orders were issued by the Home Department on Wednesday as part of routine administrative changes.

Madkar Sandeep Sampat Transferred to Nabarangpur

Madkar Sandeep Sampat, a 2012-batch IPS officer who was serving as SP Bhadrak, has now been transferred and posted as SP of Nabarangpur district. Known for his hands-on and decisive leadership style, Sampat played a key role in maintaining law and order during crucial periods in Bhadrak.

OPS Officer Manoj Kumar Rout Appointed as SP, Bhadrak

Manoj Kumar Rout, a senior officer from the Odisha Police Service (OPS), has been appointed the new SP of Bhadrak. Until now, he was serving as Additional SP in Keonjhar.

This appointment marks a return to familiar territory for Rout, who has previously served as Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) at multiple police stations in Bhadrak and brings deep knowledge of the district’s policing landscape.

Extensive Field Experience and Recognized Service

Manoj Kumar Rout is widely respected for his community-oriented approach and efficient law enforcement in districts like Bhadrak, Balasore, and Keonjhar. Over the years, he has received multiple commendations for his outstanding service, including awards for public safety initiatives and crime control.

His prior experience in Bhadrak is expected to ensure operational continuity and further strengthen the district’s law enforcement framework.
