In a minor administrative reshuffle, the Nayab Singh Saini-led Haryana government has reassigned two IAS officers, making key changes in the state’s power sector and administrative setup.
Ashok Garg Assumes Additional Charge of DHBVN
Ashok Garg, a 2006-batch IAS officer, has been given additional charge as Chairman of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN)—the power distribution company serving southern Haryana.
Garg currently serves as:
Commissioner, Hisar Division
CEO, Hisar Metropolitan Development Authority
Ashok Kumar Appointed MD of HVPNL
In another significant move, Ashok Kumar, a 2009-batch IAS officer, has been named Managing Director (MD) of Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (HVPNL)—the state’s power transmission corporation.
His appointment comes at a crucial time as Haryana focuses on strengthening power infrastructure and ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply, especially during peak demand periods.
A Routine Administrative Rejig
The reshuffle is seen as a standard realignment to enhance governance and operational efficiency in Haryana’s power sector. Both DHBVN (distribution) and HVPNL (transmission) play pivotal roles in maintaining the state’s energy supply chain.
The changes reflect the government’s efforts to optimize administrative resources while ensuring smooth power delivery across Haryana.
