Babu Ram Joins CISF as Deputy Inspector General
Babu Ram, a 2009-batch IPS officer from the Bihar cadre and currently posted as DIG, Tirhut Range, has been deputed to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in the same capacity. The CISF safeguards vital national infrastructure, including airports, metro systems, nuclear facilities, and key industrial assets. His transition marks a strategic effort to infuse the force with seasoned administrative talent from state policing ranks.
KM Mallikarjuna Prasanna Appointed IG in NIA
KM Mallikarjuna Prasanna, a 2000-batch IPS officer from the Maharashtra cadre, has been appointed as Inspector General (IG) in the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Known for his extensive experience in tackling complex criminal and insurgency cases, Prasanna’s entry is expected to bolster the NIA’s operational capability in counter-terrorism and interstate crime investigation.
These appointments reflect the Centre’s continued emphasis on enriching central agencies with field-tested leadership drawn from across the states.
