 Approval of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet to the senior IPS officer

The undersigned is directed to convey that the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal submitted by the Ministry of Home Affairs for the premature repatriation of Rajeev Kumar Sharma, Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the 1990 batch from the Rajasthan cadre, who is currently serving as Director General (DG), Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D) under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The repatriation has been approved with immediate effect, thereby relieving  Sharma from his duties in the Government of India to enable his return to his parent cadre — the Government of Rajasthan. This decision has been taken in accordance with the provisions governing central deputation of All India Services officers and as per the existing guidelines laid down by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).

The Ministry of Home Affairs and all concerned administrative authorities are requested to take necessary steps to facilitate the smooth and immediate relieving of the officer. The Government of Rajasthan is also requested to make appropriate arrangements for his redeployment in accordance with the State’s administrative requirements.

This premature repatriation may be on account of administrative grounds or personal exigencies as conveyed in the proposal, and shall be subject to all applicable service conditions and procedural compliance.
