The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Mr AP Das Joshi, a senior IAS officer of the 1994 batch from the Arunachal Pradesh–Mizoram cadre, as the new Secretary in the Ministry of Food Processing Industries.
Prior to this elevation, Mr. Joshi was serving as Additional Secretary in the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions. His appointment comes as part of a senior-level bureaucratic reshuffle approved by the central government.
With over three decades of administrative experience, Mr. Joshi brings extensive expertise in governance, personnel management, and policy implementation. His new role will involve spearheading initiatives to promote investment, innovation, and infrastructure development in India’s growing food processing sector — a key area for employment generation and value addition in agriculture.
Mr. Joshi’s appointment underscores the government’s emphasis on experienced leadership in strategically important ministries.
