Former Mumbai Port Authority Chief and Award-Winning Bureaucrat Joins Dredging Corporation of India
Retired IAS officer Rajiv Jalota has been appointed as an Additional Director (Non-Executive Independent Director) on the Board of Dredging Corporation of India Limited (DCIL). His appointment is for a period of three years, effective from the date he assumes charge.
A Distinguished Bureaucratic Career
Rajiv Jalota, a 1988-batch IAS officer from the Maharashtra cadre, is widely recognized for his reform-oriented leadership in taxation and infrastructure development. Over his career, he has held several high-level positions in both the Government of Maharashtra and the Government of India.
Notably, he served as the Chairperson of the Mumbai Port Authority as well as the Indian Ports Association (IPA), Delhi, at the rank of Secretary to the Government of India.
Strong Academic Background
Mr. Jalota holds a postgraduate degree in Science from Lucknow University and a Master’s in International Development Policy from Duke University, USA. His educational credentials have significantly shaped his contributions to public policy and infrastructure governance.
Awards and Recognitions
Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration (2017) for his key role in implementing the Goods and Services Tax (GST).
National recognition for innovation in taxation and public finance reform.
