In a sweeping administrative reshuffle, the Odisha Government on Tuesday reassigned 49 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, affecting more than 70 positions across the state. The reorganization spans top-level departments, district administrations, and municipal bodies, as outlined in the official notification issued by the General Administration and Public Grievances Department.
This large-scale restructuring aims to enhance governance efficiency, inject dynamic leadership, and accelerate the implementation of key initiatives.
Major Appointments
Chanchal Rana (IAS: 2014), previously Collector of Puri, is now Commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), a post upgraded to Joint Secretary rank.
Roopa Roshan Sahoo (IAS: 2006), RDC Southern Division, has been appointed Commissioner-cum-Secretary to the Governor of Odisha.
Hemant Sharma (IAS: 1995) retains his role as Additional Chief Secretary, Industries, and now also oversees the Information & Public Relations Department.
Sanjeeb Kumar Mishra (IAS: 1997) is the new Principal Secretary, Finance Department, with additional charge as Chairman, IDCO.
N.B.S. Rajput (IAS: 1999) will serve as Principal Secretary, Public Enterprises, with added responsibility as CMD of OSRTC.

Purpose of the Reshuffle
