MP Administrative Reshuffle: 7 IAS Officers Reassigned, Key Postings Announced

The Mohan Yadav–led Madhya Pradesh government has approved a major reshuffle of senior IAS officers to boost governance and foster cross-departmental collaboration. Issued by the General Administration Department, the new postings reposition several top bureaucrats into strategic roles.

Dr. Navneet Mohan Kothari (2001) Principal Secretary, Environment Additional Chief Secretary to the Governor, Raj Bhavan

Ashok Barnwal (IAS: 1991) Additional Chief Secretary, Forest Department & Agriculture Production Commissioner Retains existing roles; adds additional charge of Principal Secretary, Environment

Chandramouli Shukla (IAS: 2011) Managing Director, MPIDC & MPSIDC; Commissioner, Aviation Retains existing roles; adds additional charge as Additional Secretary to the Chief Minister

Deepak Arya (IAS: 2012) CEO, MP Rural Road Development Authority Retains existing role; adds Executive Director, Environment Planning & Coordination.

Other Notable Changes

Uma Maheshwari R. (IAS: 2013) relinquishes her additional EPCO charge but continues as Secretary, Indian Systems of Medicine & Homeopathy.

Amit Rathore (IAS: 1996) is now focused exclusively on the Commercial Tax Department, freed from his extra duties in Cottage & Rural Industries.

Objectives of the Reshuffle

According to the General Administration Department, these transfers aim to:

Deploy cross-functional leadership across priority sectors

Strengthen coordination between related departments

Enhance overall efficiency in policy implementation

The strategic realignment is expected to reinforce administrative capacity and streamline decision-making in Madhya Pradesh’s key industries.
