Senior officers reassigned to strengthen counterintelligence, special operations, and policing in the sensitive border district of Tarn Taran
The Punjab Government has announced a significant reshuffle of senior IPS officers, introducing key changes in counterintelligence, special operations, and district policing. The transfers, effected on administrative grounds, take immediate effect.
Key Changes in Police Leadership
Jagadale Nilambari Vijay (IPS, 2008), DIG Counter Intelligence, Punjab (SAS Nagar), has been given additional charge as DIG Faridkot Range. She will now oversee both counterintelligence operations and the law-and-order framework across Faridkot Range.
Deepak Pareek (IPS, 2014), previously serving as SSP Tarn Taran, has been transferred as AIG SSOC, Punjab, SAS Nagar. In his new role, he will lead state-level operations targeting organized crime and other critical security concerns.
Rajvot Grewal (IPS, 2015), Joint Director IVC & SU, Vigilance Bureau, has been appointed as SSP Tarn Taran, replacing Pareek. His mandate will include strengthening district policing and maintaining security in the sensitive border district.
Officers Directed to Take Charge Immediately
The transferred officers have been instructed to assume charge of their new assignments without delay. The orders, issued with the approval of the competent authority on September 10, 2025, have been communicated to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, the DGP Punjab, and other senior officials for compliance.
Strengthening Security Through Strategic Postings
This administrative reshuffle underscores the Punjab Government’s emphasis on bolstering key police positions. By positioning experienced officers in counterintelligence, special operations, and border policing, the state aims to reinforce its law-and-order apparatus in anticipation of evolving security challenges.
