Andhra Pradesh Government Implements Major District Collector Reshuffle

Strategic realignment aims to enhance administrative effectiveness across key districts

In a significant administrative restructuring, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has announced the transfer and reappointment of 12 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, marking a comprehensive reshuffle of District Collectors and Magistrates throughout the state. The reorganization, formalized through Government Order Rt No. 1676 issued by Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand on Thursday, is designed to strengthen governance efficiency and improve public service delivery at the district level.

Key Appointments

The reassignments include several prominent postings:

Kritika Shukla, previously serving as Director of Intermediate Education, has been appointed Collector of Palnadu district, succeeding P. Arun Babu.

P. Raja Babu, until now Secretary of the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC), assumes the role of Collector of Prakasam.

Himanshu Shukla, former Director of Information & Public Relations (I&PR), takes charge as Collector of Nellore.

N. Prabhakar Reddy, Joint Secretary in the Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA) office, has been posted as Collector of Parvathipuram Manyam.

Nishanth Kumar, until recently Director of Excise & Prohibition, becomes Collector of Annamayya.

Dr. A. Siri, previously Director of Secondary Health, will now serve as Collector of Kurnool.

The reshuffle also includes the following changes:

Dr. V. Vinod Kumar, formerly Collector of Anantapur, has been transferred to Bapatla.

Thameem Ansaria A., Collector of Prakasam, moves to Guntur, replacing S. Nagalakshmi.

S. Rama Sunder Reddy, Commissioner of Rehabilitation & Resettlement, takes over as Collector of Vizianagaram.

Kirti Chekuri, Joint Managing Director of AP TRANSCO, has been appointed Collector of East Godavari.

O. Anand assumes the role of Collector of Anantapur, while A. Shyam Prasad has been posted as Collector of Satya Sai district.

The government has indicated that posting orders for additional transferred officers will be announced separately.

This administrative realignment reflects the state government’s focused approach to placing experienced officers in leadership roles that align with regional development goals.
