16 IAS Officers Shifted in UP; Lucknow Commissioner Replaced, B. Chandrakala Assigned Forest Department

Big Shake-Up Across Education, Health, Environment, and Key Administrative Posts

In a sweeping administrative overhaul, the Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday transferred 16 senior IAS officers, including three divisional commissioners, in a move that impacts critical departments such as education, health, environment, transport, youth welfare, and revenue. The transfers, effective immediately, mark one of the most comprehensive bureaucratic realignments in recent months.

Key Divisional Commissioner Appointments

Vijay Vishwas Pant (IAS, 2004), Divisional Commissioner of Prayagraj, has been appointed Divisional Commissioner of Lucknow.

Saumya Agarwal (IAS, 2008), Divisional Commissioner of Bareilly, has been transferred as Divisional Commissioner of Prayagraj.

Anamika Singh (IAS, 2004), Secretary of the Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department, has been named Divisional Commissioner of Bareilly.

Education Department Reallocation

Kanchan Verma (IAS, 2005), Director General of School Education, has been appointed Commissioner and Secretary in the Revenue Council.

Monika Rani (IAS, 2010), Special Secretary Basic Education and Additional DG, School Education, takes over as in-charge Director General of School Education.

Food Safety and Drug Administration Shake-Up

Dr. Roshan Jacob (IAS, 2004), former Divisional Commissioner of Lucknow, becomes Secretary and Commissioner of the Food Safety and Drug Administration Department.

Ranjan Kumar (IAS, 2000), Principal Secretary, will now focus solely on AYUSH, with the food safety portfolio withdrawn.

Rajesh Kumar-II (IAS, 2009), outgoing Commissioner of Food Safety, has been appointed Director General of Tourism.

Transport and Medical Education Reassignments

Kinjal Singh (IAS, 2008), Director General of Medical Education, has been posted as Transport Commissioner.

Brajesh Narayan Singh (IAS, 2009, promotee), outgoing Transport Commissioner, is now Secretary, General Administration Department; he is scheduled to retire on September 30.

Aparna U, Secretary, Medical Education, has been given additional charge of Director General, Medical Education.

New Responsibilities in Youth Welfare and AYUSH

Suhas L. Y. (IAS, 2007), Secretary, Sports and Youth Welfare, takes on additional charge as Director General, Youth Welfare and Provincial Guard.

Chaitra V. (IAS, 2007), previously DG, Youth Welfare and Provincial Guard, has been posted as Director General, AYUSH.

Sanjay Kumar Khatri (IAS, 2010), Additional CEO of Noida, has been promoted as in-charge CEO, Bundelkhand Industrial Development Authority.

Environment, Forest, and Women’s Welfare Departments Restructured

B. Chandrakala (IAS, 2008), former Secretary of Women Welfare and Child Development, has been appointed Secretary, Forest, Environment, and Climate Change Department, and also CEO of the UP Clean Air Management Project Authority.

Manisha Trighatia (IAS, 2002), Commissioner and Secretary, Revenue Council, has been posted as Secretary, Women Welfare, Child Development, and Nutrition.
