Major Reshuffle Across Key Districts to Strengthen Law and Order

The Jharkhand government on Friday announced a major reshuffle of Indian Police Service (IPS) officers across the state, with significant changes in Ranchi, Chaibasa, Deoghar, Dhanbad, and other districts. The reassignments are aimed at strengthening law and order and addressing evolving administrative needs.

Key Appointments: Ranchi and Chaibasa

Rakesh Ranjan, previously SP of Chaibasa, has been appointed as the new Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Ranchi.

Amit Renu (IPS:2016), who was serving as SP (Naxal Operations), Ranchi, will now take charge as SP of Chaibasa.

Paras Rana, earlier ASP (Operations), Chaibasa, has been posted as City SP, Ranchi, with responsibility for JAP-10 and Hotwar zones.

Chandan Kumar Sinha – DIG, Anti-Corruption Bureau, Ranchi

Arvind Kumar Singh – SP, Special Branch, Ranchi

Several additional postings have also been made in Dhanbad, Palamu, and other districts as part of this reshuffle.

Government’s Statement

The state government said the transfers were undertaken to meet the evolving policing and administrative requirements of Jharkhand. The reshuffle, it added, is expected to bolster operational efficiency and ensure more effective law and order management across districts.
