In a major administrative overhaul aimed at strengthening governance and expediting development, the Andhra Pradesh government has issued fresh transfer and posting orders for several IAS officers across critical departments, including energy, registration, excise, rural development, and district administration. The orders take immediate effect.

New Leadership at APGENCO
S. Nagalakshmi, a 2012-batch IAS officer awaiting posting, has been appointed Managing Director of Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation (APGENCO) under the Energy Department. She replaces K.V.N. Chakradhar Babu (2011 batch). Her leadership is expected to sharpen the state’s focus on energy generation and infrastructure expansion.

Appointments in Welfare, Registration, and Rehabilitation
P. Prasanthi (2014 batch) has been named Director of Rehabilitation and Resettlement, while B.R. Ambedkar (2015 batch) has taken over as Inspector General, Registration & Stamps, from G. Veerapandian (2009 batch), who has been relieved of the additional charge. These changes are designed to streamline land and property registration processes and strengthen rehabilitation initiatives.

Excise, Urban Development, and District-Level Assignments
Sridhar Chamakuri (2016 batch) has been appointed Director of Excise & Prohibition, a crucial department overseeing regulation and enforcement. Amilineni Bhargav Teja (2018 batch) has been named Additional Commissioner of the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA), succeeding Mallarapu Naveen (2018 batch), who moves to Krishna district as Joint Collector and Additional District Magistrate.

Strengthening Rural Development and Village Industries
Katta Simhachalam (2019 batch) will take charge as Chief Executive Officer of the Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB). His appointment underscores the government’s push to accelerate village industries, khadi promotion, and micro-enterprise development.

District Administration and Electoral Oversight
Mogili Venkateswarlu (2013 batch) has been posted as Joint Collector and Additional District Magistrate of Nellore, replacing Kollabathula Karthik (2020 batch). Meanwhile, Mallikarjuna A (2012 batch), serving as Director of B.C. Welfare, has been given the additional charge of Secretary, Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission—a key role as the state gears up for intensified electoral activity.

The reshuffle highlights the government’s intent to align leadership with strategic priorities, ensure efficient service delivery, and prepare institutions for accelerated growth and governance outcomes.
