MHA Sanctions Central Deputation of Three IPS Officers: Rema Rajeswari, Ilango R, and Albert John Take Charge at NCRB, SVPNPA, and NIA

In a strategic move to reinforce India’s core law enforcement and investigative institutions, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has approved the central deputation of three distinguished Indian Police Service (IPS) officers. These appointments place seasoned professionals in pivotal roles across national agencies that are integral to internal security, crime data management, and police training.

Rema Rajeswari Appointed DIG at National Crime Records Bureau

Rema Rajeswari, a 2009-batch IPS officer from the Telangana cadre, has been named Deputy Inspector General (DIG) at the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB). As the central authority for crime data collection and analysis, NCRB plays a vital role in shaping evidence-based policing strategies. Rajeswari’s extensive field experience is expected to enhance the bureau’s operational effectiveness and data-driven governance.

Ilango R Joins SVPNPA as Assistant Director

Ilango R, a 2015-batch IPS officer from the Kerala cadre, has been appointed Assistant Director at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) in Hyderabad. SVPNPA is India’s premier institution for IPS training, and Ilango’s new role will involve designing and supervising training modules, as well as mentoring the next generation of police leadership.

Albert John Assigned to NIA as Superintendent of Police

Albert John, a 2017-batch IPS officer from the Tamil Nadu cadre, has been deputed as Superintendent of Police (SP) at the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The NIA is India’s lead agency for counter-terrorism and national security investigations. John’s appointment is expected to strengthen the agency’s operational depth and investigative capabilities.

Immediate Transition and Official Clearance

As per official directives issued by the MHA, these appointments have been made against existing vacancies under the standard terms of central deputation. The respective state governments have been instructed to relieve the officers promptly to ensure a smooth transition into their new assignments.

Reinforcing India’s Law Enforcement Architecture

These strategic postings underscore the government’s commitment to fortifying the institutional capacity of India’s top policing and security agencies. By entrusting key roles to experienced IPS officers, the MHA aims to enhance leadership, operational efficiency, and responsiveness in addressing complex challenges related to crime, public safety, and national security.
