The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved two significant appointments, strengthening leadership in the Ministry of Labour and Employment as well as the Department of Commerce.
Alok Mishra to Continue Additional Charge of DGFASLI
The ACC has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Labour and Employment for an extension of the additional charge of the post of Director General, Directorate General of Factory Advice Service and Labour Institute (DGFASLI), to Shri Alok Mishra, IAS (1998), Joint Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment. He will continue in this role for a period of six months with effect from August 6, 2025, or until a regular incumbent is appointed, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Davinder Chodha Appointed Deputy Secretary, Government e-Marketplace
Separately, Shri Davinder Chodha, IRS (IT:2015), has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) under the Department of Commerce, Delhi, under the Central Staffing Scheme. His tenure will be for a combined period of four years, up to March 14, 2028, including both ex-cadre and CSS deputation, effective from the date he assumes charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Recommended for central deputation by the Department of Revenue, Shri Chodha has been directed to be relieved of his present responsibilities immediately to join his new assignment. As per ACC guidelines, conveyed through the DoPT’s circular dated August 11, 2005, officers must assume charge within three weeks of the appointment order; failing this, debarment proceedings under the Central Staffing Scheme will be initiated.
