Punjab: Two IAS Officers Shifted in Evening Reshuffle, Jaspreet Singh Appointed MD of Punjab INFOTECH

In a late-night bureaucratic reshuffle, the Punjab Government under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann reassigned two senior IAS officers, resulting in an exchange of their key responsibilities.

Sandeep Hans Moves to Food Processing Department

Sandeep Hans (IAS, 2010 batch), who had been serving as Managing Director of Punjab INFOTECH and Additional CEO of the Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion, has now been entrusted with the role of Special Secretary in the Food Processing Department.

Alongside, he will also function as Mission Director for Food Processing, a responsibility earlier held by Jaspreet Singh.

Hans, known for his past work in governance and industry facilitation, has played notable roles in sectors related to administration and investment growth.

Jaspreet Singh Takes Charge of Punjab INFOTECH

Meanwhile, Jaspreet Singh (IAS, 2014 batch), who was previously working as Special Secretary and Mission Director in the Food Processing Department, has been shifted to the Industries and Commerce Department.

He will now assume charge as Managing Director of Punjab INFOTECH and Additional CEO of the Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion, thereby succeeding Sandeep Hans in these positions.

In addition to his new assignment, Jaspreet Singh will continue to serve as Nodal Officer for Post-Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA), ensuring continuity in disaster preparedness and rehabilitation work.

Immediate Effect of Transfer Orders

The government orders, issued late on October 6, 2025, clearly state that both officers must report to their new postings without delay.

Objective Behind the Reshuffle

This administrative shake-up is part of the Punjab Government’s larger plan to improve governance efficiency and place seasoned officers in critical departments that focus on investment promotion and food processing sector development across the state.
