IAS Officer G. Surya Sai Praveenchand? 2019-Batch Bureaucrat Takes Over as JMD of AP Transco, Sets Vision for National Excellence
Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh: IAS officer G. Surya Sai Praveenchand, belonging to the 2019 batch of the Indian Administrative Service, officially assumed the role of Joint Managing Director (JMD) at AP Transco on Monday. Recognized for his result-oriented approach and innovative leadership, Praveenchand expressed a strong commitment to strengthening Andhra Pradesh’s power transmission framework and positioning it among the best in the country.
Focus on Uninterrupted and Efficient Power Supply
After assuming charge, Praveenchand highlighted that AP Transco serves as the backbone of the state’s power ecosystem, ensuring round-the-clock electricity delivery to every corner of Andhra Pradesh. He reaffirmed his resolve to advance modernization, improve system reliability, and enhance overall operational efficiency in alignment with the government’s development agenda.
“With sustained teamwork and innovation, we aim to make AP Transco the most efficient and reliable power transmission utility in India,” he remarked.

A Technocrat-Turned-Administrator with Proven Merit
A native of Andhra Pradesh, G. Surya Sai Praveenchand holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna. He secured the 64th rank in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2018, joining the IAS at the age of 27.
