IAS Officer Archana Agrawal Repatriated to Uttar Pradesh Cadre on Personal Grounds/ Appointments Committee of the Cabinet Approves Move

New Delhi, October 13, 2025: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the repatriation of senior IAS officer Archana Agrawal (UP cadre, 1990 batch) to her parent cadre in Uttar Pradesh. The decision was taken following her request to return on personal grounds.

Ms. Agrawal had been serving as the Member Secretary of the National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB) under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. During her tenure, she contributed to key initiatives related to regional development, infrastructure planning, and inter-state coordination in the NCR region.

With the ACC’s approval, the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has issued the official notification formalizing her repatriation. She is expected to be relieved from her current post shortly to join her parent cadre in Uttar Pradesh.

Ms. Agrawal, a 1990-batch IAS officer, has earlier held several significant positions in both the state government and the central government, including roles in urban development, administration, and planning.

The repatriation marks another notable administrative movement approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet this month, as part of the routine cadre management process.
