The competent authority has given its approval to the Department of Commerce’s proposal for the premature repatriation of Mr Dinesh Singh, a 1989-batch officer of the Indian Ordnance Factory Service (IOFS).
Mr Singh is currently serving as the Development Commissioner (Joint Secretary level) at the Kandla Special Economic Zone (KASEZ) in Kandla, Gujarat, under the administrative control of the Department of Commerce.
As per the approved proposal, he will be relieved from his present central deputation before completion of the usual tenure and sent back to his parent cadre. The repatriation aims to enable him to avail the benefits of promotion and career advancement opportunities available within his parent department.
This decision reflects a routine administrative measure to facilitate cadre management and ensure that eligible officers are able to assume their higher responsibilities within their original service at the appropriate time.
