State Government Announces Major Overhaul in Police Leadership
Raipur: In a wide-ranging administrative reshuffle, the Chhattisgarh Government has ordered the transfer of seven Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, including the Superintendents of Police (SPs) of several key districts. The transfer directives were released on Friday by the Home Department under Secretary Himshikhar Gupta.
Ankita Sharma to Head Rajnandgaon, Pankaj Chandra Moves to Kondagaon
As per the official order, IPS officer Ankita Sharma has been posted as Superintendent of Police, Rajnandgaon, while Pankaj Chandra will now assume charge as SP, Kondagaon. Prafull Thakur has been assigned to Sakti district, and Ratna Singh will take over as SP of Manendragarh–Chirmiri–Bharatpur.
Mohit Garg Elevated and Shifted to Police Headquarters
Former Rajnandgaon SP Mohit Garg has been promoted to Assistant Inspector General (AIG) and transferred to the Police Headquarters (PHQ), Raipur.
Meanwhile, Chandramohan Singh, who earlier served as SP of Manendragarh–Chirmiri–Bharatpur, has been appointed Director, Emergency Services, overseeing the Fire Brigade and City Force operations.
In addition, Yaduvalli Akshay Sidar has been posted as Assistant Inspector General of Police, while Chandramohan Singh formally took charge as Director, Fire Brigade and City Force.
Ankita Sharma Assumes New Role in Rajnandgaon
IPS officer Ankita Sharma, previously serving as SP, Sakti, has now taken over the reins in Rajnandgaon. Known for her hands-on approach and effective field leadership, Sharma is expected to strengthen law enforcement and public order in the district.
Her former posting in Sakti has been filled by IPS Prafull Thakur, while Ratna Singh has officially taken charge of Manendragarh–Chirmiri–Bharatpur.
Pankaj Chandra to Oversee Law and Order in Kondagaon
IPS Pankaj Chandra, now posted as SP, Kondagaon, takes charge at a crucial time as the district continues to focus on law and order management and anti-Naxal operations. The Home Department has instructed all transferred officers to immediately assume their new roles and report compliance upon joining.
Follows Earlier IAS Transfers
This police reshuffle comes shortly after a series of IAS transfers carried out on September 30, soon after Chief Secretary Vikas Sheel took charge. During that round, Jitendra Yadav was appointed Collector of Rajnandgaon, while Dr. Rohit Yadav replaced P. Dayanand as Director, Public Relations Department. Several senior bureaucrats were also given additional assignments, and some were relieved of existing responsibilities.
