Centre Appoints Senior IRPS Officers to UPSC & DGCA Leadership Roles

In a recent administrative reshuffle approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), two senior officers from the Indian Railway Personnel Service (IRPS) have been appointed to prominent positions in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

Mr Rajendra Kumar Agrawal, IRPS (2000)
Mr Rajendra Kumar Agrawal has been appointed as Additional Secretary (Joint Secretary level) in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), which functions under the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). He will assume charge from the date of taking over the post and will continue in this role till his retirement on September 30, 2030, or until further instructions, whichever occurs earlier. He succeeds Mr Kumar Sanjay Bariar, IP&TA&FS (1993).

Mr Jai Prakash Pandey, IRPS (2003)
Mr Jai Prakash Pandey has been named Joint Director General (Joint Secretary level) in the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), under the Ministry of Civil Aviation. His appointment takes effect from the date he assumes charge and will remain valid for a combined tenure of seven years, up to February 20, 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

These postings underscore the government’s continued emphasis on strengthening institutional leadership in key regulatory and personnel management bodies.
