Centre Approves New Appointments at Joint Secretary Level in Atomic Energy and IT Ministries
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has sanctioned two key appointments at the Joint Secretary and equivalent level in major departments of the Government of India. Both officers will serve with pay at Level 14 of the Pay Matrix, reflecting senior administrative responsibility in their respective domains.
Ms Sonal Bajaj, IRS (C&IT: 1998)
Ms Sonal Bajaj has been appointed as Director (Finance) in the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL), Mumbai, functioning under the Department of Atomic Energy. He will take charge from the date of assumption of office and continue for a five-year tenure, or until further instructions, whichever comes first. He replaces Mr M. Sankaranarayanan, IAS (Maharashtra: 2003).
Mr Sudeep Shrivastava, IRSSE (2001)
Mr Sudeep Shrivastava has been designated as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). His appointment will be effective from the date he assumes charge and will extend for five years, or until further orders, whichever occurs earlier. He takes over from Mr Amod Kumar, IAS (Uttar Pradesh: 1995).
These appointments highlight the Centre’s continued effort to strengthen governance in vital sectors such as nuclear energy and digital technology, ensuring financial and strategic leadership through experienced officers.
