Tripura Undertakes Major Bureaucratic Revamp: 15 IAS & TCS Officers Reassigned in Wide-Ranging Administrative Shake-Up

The Government of Tripura has carried out a substantial reorganization of its administrative machinery, issuing three separate notifications between November 10 and 15, 2025. Through these orders, a total of 15 officers belonging to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and the Tripura Civil Service (TCS) have been transferred or given new postings. Issued by the General Administration (Personnel & Training) Department, these directives are effective immediately and will continue to remain in force until new orders are released.

Transfers Announced on 10 November — First Set of TCS Movements

The initial notification, dated November 10, outlined the reassignment of four officers from the Tripura Civil Service:

Hari Kishore Uchai (TCS Grade-II): Shifted from the Office of the DC & SDM, Ambassa, to assume duties at the Office of the DC & SDM, Karbook.

Babul Malakar (TCS Grade-II): Relocated from the Office of the DC & SDM, Gonda Twisa, and posted to the Office of the DC & SDM, Panisagar.

Subhash Debnath (TCS Grade-II): Transferred from the Office of the DC & SDM, Jirania, to take charge at the Office of the DC & SDM, Gonda Twisa.

Joy Manik Bongshi (TCS Grade-II): Moved from his role as Additional BDO, Panisagar R.D. Block, and appointed as Deputy Director, Kokborok & Other Minority Languages, Agartala.

This notification was formally issued at 4:05 PM by Jai Datta, Under Secretary to the Government of Tripura.

Second Notification on 10 November — Additional Senior TCS Postings

Later the same day, a second transfer order was circulated involving two TCS Grade-I officers:

Jayanta Bhattacharjee (TCS Grade-I): Reassigned from ADM & Collector (P), DRDA, Gomati District, to the post of Joint Secretary in the Governor’s Secretariat, Tripura.

Sanjit Debbarma (TCS Grade-I): Posted from the position of Senior Deputy Magistrate, Sepahijala District, to ADM & Collector (PPs), Gomati District.

This set of orders was authorized by Saurav Kumar Debbarma, Deputy Secretary to the Government of Tripura.

Large-Scale Reshuffle on 15 November — IAS & TCS Officers Shifted

The third notification, released on November 15, represented the most extensive reshuffle of the month, involving nine officers across IAS and TCS cadres. Notable reassignments included:

Chiranjeev Anand (IAS): Transferred from the post of SDM, Jampuijala, and appointed as Commissioner of Taxes, Agartala.

Amitabha Chakma (TCS Grade-I): Moved from Joint Director, Urban Development Department, Agartala, to assume charge as SDM, Jampuijala.

Deepak Kumar (IAS): Designated as Director, Industries & Commerce, Agartala, while additionally serving as Managing Director, Tripura Industrial Development Corporation (TIDC) Ltd.

Gugulavath Sharath Nayak (IAS): Released from his responsibilities as SDM, Kamalpur, and Executive Officer, Kamalpur Nagar Panchayat. He has now been appointed CEO of Ayushman Bharat, Executive Secretary of THPS, and State Mission Director for ABDM.

Gideon Molsom (TCS Grade-II): Transferred from Deputy Director (Administration), AGMC & GBP Hospital, Agartala, to take over as SDM, Kamalpur, with additional charge of Executive Officer, Kamalpur Nagar Panchayat.

Ashis Biswas (TCS Grade-I): Shifted from Additional SDM, Belonia, to SDM, Belonia.

Swarup Kumar Paul (TCS Grade-II): Posted from the Office of DC & SDM, Udaipur, to join as Additional SDM, Belonia.

The notification also included instructions for the withdrawal of certain additional charges held by officers, intended to improve efficiency and avoid overlaps in administrative responsibilities.

This comprehensive order was also issued under the authority of J. Datta, Under Secretary to the Government of Tripura.

Purpose Behind the Statewide Reassignments

These transfers influence several key districts including Gomati, Dhalai, Sepahijala, South Tripura, Khowai, and North Tripura. The overarching objective of the reshuffle is to refine administrative operations, elevate the quality of governance, and enhance public service delivery. By positioning officers in roles that match emerging administrative needs, the Government of Tripura aims to fortify district-level management and ensure smoother coordination across departments and field units.
