ACC Extends Temporary Upgradation of Key Senior Bureaucratic Posts in Expenditure and Tourism Ministries
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has sanctioned an extension in the temporary upgradation of two significant senior-level positions within the Government of India. These extensions ensure continued administrative continuity and policy oversight in key ministries.
Firstly, the ACC has approved the continuation of the temporary upgradation of the post of Joint Secretary to the rank of Additional Secretary in the Department of Expenditure. This position is currently occupied by Mr Sajjan Singh Yadav, IAS (AGMUT:1995).
Mr Yadav’s upgraded role will now remain valid until 19 August 2026, enabling him to continue managing high-level financial policymaking and expenditure oversight during this extended period.
Secondly, the Committee has endorsed the extension of the temporary upgradation of the post of Joint Secretary to the level of Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism. This upgraded assignment is presently held by Mr Suman Billa, IAS (Kerala:1996).
Mr Billa’s tenure in the enhanced role has been extended until 5 December 2026, permitting him to maintain leadership continuity in tourism development, strategic planning, and global outreach initiatives of the ministry.
These extensions reflect the government’s aim to sustain experienced leadership in critical administrative domains and ensure uninterrupted functioning of essential policy mechanisms.
