Chhattisgarh Government Executes Major IAS Reshuffle Ahead of PM Modi’s Raipur Visit; Key Changes Across Health, Education, Revenue, and Election Departments

In a significant administrative overhaul just days before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to Raipur, the Chhattisgarh government has transferred 13 IAS officers across crucial departments. The General Administration Department (GAD) released the official transfer orders on Thursday, with Secretary Rajat Kumar issuing the notifications from the Mahanadi Bhawan in Nava Raipur.

This reshuffle impacts senior bureaucratic positions such as Secretaries, Commissioners, Directors, and Managing Directors—indicating a strategic tightening of governance machinery ahead of high-level state engagements.

Major Secretariat-Level Appointments

Shikha Rajput Tiwari Assigned to State Election Commission

IAS officer Shikha Rajput Tiwari (2008 batch) has been relieved from her role as Commissioner, Medical Education, and appointed Secretary, Chhattisgarh State Election Commission. Her shift is considered a crucial administrative repositioning ahead of upcoming electoral responsibilities.

Dr. Priyanka Shukla to Lead Samagra Shiksha

IAS Dr. Priyanka Shukla (2009 batch), previously serving in the Health Department, has been appointed Commissioner, Samagra Shiksha. She will also continue to hold additional charge of the State Textbook Corporation, strengthening implementation capacity in the state’s school education ecosystem.

Kiran Kaushal Takes Over as Secretary in State Government

IAS officer Kiran Kaushal (2009 batch) has been transferred from her position as Managing Director, Markfed, and has now been placed in a key Secretary-level assignment within the state administration.
