Centre Orders Early Repatriation of IAS Officer Siddharth Mahajan With Extended Cooling-Off Period
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has accepted the Department of Commerce’s request to send IAS officer Siddharth Mahajan (Rajasthan cadre, 2003 batch) back to his home cadre before the end of his central deputation.
Mahajan, who is currently serving as a Joint Secretary in the Department of Commerce, will now return to his state cadre earlier than planned.
Along with this early repatriation, the government has also decided to impose an extended cooling-off period, meaning he will have to wait longer than usual before he can be considered again for any central government posting.
This move reflects an important administrative decision within the Commerce Department and the central staffing system.
