Gujarat Promotes Six Senior IPS Officers; Manoj Sashidhar and Raju Bhargava Elevated to DGP Rank
The Gujarat government has approved promotions for six senior IPS officers, including some who are currently working on central deputation. The state Home Department released an official notification on Monday confirming these advancements, which take effect immediately. The promotions have been approved in the larger public interest.
Top-Level Police Promotions
Officers Elevated to DGP Rank
Manoj Sashidhar (IPS, 1994 batch), who is presently posted with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as Special Director, has received a proforma promotion to the rank of Director General of Police (DGP).
Raju Bhargava (IPS, 1995 batch), serving as Additional Director General of Police (Armed Units) in Gandhinagar, has also been promoted to the DGP grade. He has been assigned the upgraded ex-cadre post of Director General of Police (Armed Units), which has been raised from the ADGP level specifically for his appointment.
Officers Promoted to IGP Rank
Three IPS officers from the 2007 batch, all currently on central deputation, have been granted proforma promotions to the level of Inspector General of Police (IGP):
Divya Mishra, posted in the Intelligence Bureau
Deepan Bhadran, working in the Cabinet Secretariat
Saurabh Tolumbia, serving with GAIL (India) Limited
In addition, P.V. Rathod (IPS, 2007 batch), who serves as DIG, CID (Crime) in Gandhinagar, has also been promoted to IGP. She has been placed in the newly upgraded ex-cadre post of IGP, CID (Crime) after her previous DIG post was elevated.

The promotion order, signed in the name of the Governor by Chief Secretary M.K. Das, has been sent to:
The Governor, Chief Minister, and Deputy Chief Minister
Senior officials in the Home and Personnel Departments
National-level agencies, including the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and the CBI
The top leadership of the Gujarat Police
All promoted officers will take charge of their upgraded roles immediately, ensuring continuity in the state’s policing and administrative systems.
