Centre Appoints New Central Nodal Officers to Oversee Aspirational Agricultural Districts Under PM Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana
The Central Government has announced a fresh round of appointments and replacements of Central Nodal Officers (CNOs) to supervise, evaluate, and guide progress in the Aspirational Agricultural Districts identified under the Prime Minister Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (PMDDKY)—a flagship initiative aimed at boosting farm productivity, income diversification, and rural development.
In a new official memorandum, the Ministry has referred to its earlier communication dated 3 October 2025, along with subsequent amendments and updates issued periodically. The circular underscores that, in accordance with existing rules and administrative provisions, the designated Central Nodal Officers for several districts have now been revised, replaced, or newly appointed.
These CNOs play a pivotal role in the PMDDKY framework by:
Reviewing district-level agricultural performance
Monitoring implementation of targeted interventions
Facilitating coordination between the Centre, state governments, and local administrations
Ensuring timely execution of crop enhancement, irrigation, soil improvement, and farm mechanisation programmes
Submitting periodic progress reports to assist evidence-based policymaking
The reshuffle aims to strengthen oversight and improve accountability across districts that have been prioritised for accelerated agricultural development. The updated list of officers—along with previous orders and amendments—has been compiled in the Appendix referenced in the memorandum.
Officials emphasise that the new appointments are intended to streamline programme delivery, address administrative gaps, and ensure that the objectives of PMDDKY translate into tangible benefits for farmers, especially in regions identified as lagging in productivity and infrastructure.
Further instructions regarding operational guidelines, review schedules, and performance indicators are expected to be issued shortly.
