Cabinet Panel Extends Central Deputation of IAS Officer Th. Chitra Devi as DCO/DCR Manipur Till September 2028
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has granted approval for the extension of the central deputation tenure of Smt. Th. Chitra Devi, IAS (Manipur cadre: 2009), who is currently serving as Director of Census Operations (DCO) and Director of Citizen Registration (DCR), Manipur, under the Central Staffing Scheme.
According to the official order, the competent authority has sanctioned the continuation of her central deputation beyond the existing tenure ending on 31 December 2025. The extension will now remain valid up to 05 September 2028, or until further orders are issued, whichever occurs earlier.
Smt. Th. Chitra Devi has been serving on central deputation with effect from 05 September 2022. The extension reflects the Centre’s confidence in her administrative experience and ongoing contribution to critical functions related to census operations and citizen registration in the state of Manipur.
The post of Director of Census Operations and Director of Citizen Registration carries significant responsibility, particularly in ensuring accurate demographic data, overseeing citizen registration processes, and supporting evidence-based governance. The continuation of her tenure is expected to provide administrative stability and continuity in these key national assignments.
