In a significant administrative development, the competent authority of the Government of India has formally sanctioned the re-designation of an existing senior post in the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), marking an important career advancement for a serving Indian Economic Service officer.

As per the approval order, the post of Deputy Secretary currently occupied by Ms. Tamanna Sinha, IES (2012 batch), has been officially upgraded and re-designated as Director, Central Vigilance Commission. This enhancement has been granted as a personal measure specific to the officer, in recognition of service requirements and organizational needs.

The revised designation will come into effect from 1 January 2026 or from the actual date on which Ms. Sinha assumes charge of the upgraded post, whichever occurs later.

The approved tenure for holding the re-designated Director post has been fixed up to 13 October 2030, thereby completing the maximum admissible central deputation tenure of five years under the Central Staffing Scheme.

It has further been clarified that Ms. Tamanna Sinha’s central deputation tenure will formally commence with effect from 14 October 2025, marking the beginning of her deputation phase prior to the elevation of her position.

This administrative decision reflects the Government’s continued efforts to align officer placements with institutional requirements while ensuring optimal utilization of experienced officers in sensitive oversight bodies such as the Central Vigilance Commission.
