Siva Shankar Bandi, IDAS Elevated to Director Rank in Central Vigilance Commission; Re-Designation Approved Till May 2029

The Government of India has accorded formal approval to the upgradation of the position currently occupied by Mr Siva Shankar Bandi, IDAS (2012 batch), within the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC). The Deputy Secretary-level post held by him has now been officially elevated to the rank of Director, exclusively for his appointment.

According to the order issued by the Competent Authority, the redesignation has been granted as a special personal concession in recognition of Mr Bandi’s service credentials. The enhanced Director-level position will take effect from 1 January 2026 or from the date on which he formally assumes charge of the upgraded post—whichever is later.

This revised assignment will remain valid until 1 May 2029, which completes the maximum permissible five-year tenure under the Central Staffing Scheme. The duration has been structured to align fully with the total admissible central deputation period as laid down in existing service regulations.

Officials clarified that Mr Siva Shankar Bandi’s central deputation commenced on 2 May 2024 and continues to remain operative under the present administrative framework.
