IRS Officer V. Ramananda Reddy Appointed as Director of National Commission for Protection of Child Rights
The Government of India has formally appointed Mr V. Ramananda Reddy, Indian Revenue Service (IRS), to the senior Director-level position in the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), the statutory body functioning under the Ministry of Women and Child Development.
According to the official order issued by the competent authority, Mr Ramananda Reddy has been selected to assume charge as Director at the NCPCR headquarters, where he will be entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing critical child rights protection programmes, policy coordination, legal compliance mechanisms, and inter-ministerial child welfare initiatives across the country.
The appointment has been made under the Central Staffing Scheme, and his tenure will be governed by the applicable norms of central deputation, including service conditions, tenure duration, and administrative responsibilities as prescribed by the Department of Personnel and Training.
As Director, Mr Ramananda Reddy will play a pivotal role in strengthening institutional frameworks related to child safety, child protection legislation, rehabilitation of vulnerable children, monitoring of juvenile justice systems, and coordination with state governments and law enforcement agencies for the effective implementation of national child welfare policies.
The appointment is expected to significantly reinforce the Commission’s operational capacity in safeguarding children’s rights, ensuring policy compliance, and accelerating grievance redressal mechanisms at the national level.
