Government Clears Early Repatriation of Himanshu Gunawat, IRSME, from Skill Development Ministry with Extended Cooling-Off Provision

The Government of India has approved the premature repatriation of Mr Himanshu Gunawat, Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME), 2014 batch, who is presently serving as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, allowing him to return to his parent cadre before the completion of his central deputation tenure.

The decision has been taken by the Competent Authority on the recommendation of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, following the Ministry’s official memorandum dated 23 December 2025.

Mr Gunawat has been permitted to proceed on repatriation on personal grounds, and the approval is subject to the imposition of an “extended cooling-off” condition, under which he will be required to observe a mandatory waiting period before becoming eligible for any future central deputation assignments, as stipulated under prevailing staffing norms.

He has been directed to be relieved from his present duties with immediate effect and instructed to report back to his parent cadre without delay for further posting.

The order has been issued in accordance with the provisions of the Central Staffing Scheme and deputation management guidelines of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), ensuring continuity of administrative processes within the Ministry.
