IRS Officer Raghav Gupta’s Post Upgraded to Director Level in NATGRID Under Central Staffing Scheme

The Government of India has approved the elevation of Mr. Raghav Gupta, IRS, by granting redesignation of the post presently occupied by him from Deputy Secretary to Director in the National Intelligence Grid (NATGRID), under the provisions of the Central Staffing Scheme.

The decision has been cleared by the Competent Authority, which sanctioned the proposal to upgrade the position held by Mr. Gupta as a personal upgradation, allowing him to function at the Director level. The redesignation shall become effective from the date he formally assumes charge of the re-designated post.

As per official orders, Mr. Gupta will continue in the upgraded Director role for the entire balance tenure admissible under the Central Staffing Scheme, or until further instructions are issued by the Government of India, whichever occurs earlier.

The NATGRID is one of India’s most critical national security and intelligence architecture institutions, responsible for integrating and analysing data streams from multiple law-enforcement and intelligence agencies to strengthen counter-terrorism, internal security, and organized crime surveillance mechanisms.

The elevation of Mr. Gupta is aimed at reinforcing NATGRID’s senior leadership framework at a time when India is rapidly expanding its real-time data integration, national threat monitoring systems, and digital intelligence capabilities.

With extensive experience in revenue administration and regulatory enforcement, Mr. Gupta is expected to play a key role in enhancing inter-agency coordination, intelligence data governance, and national security analytics operations within NATGRID.
