Centre Appoints IRS Officer Zainab Sayeed as Senior Manager (Deputy Secretary Rank) at TRIFED’s Kolkata Office
In a notable administrative development, the Government of India has sanctioned the appointment of Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer Ms. Zainab Sayeed as Senior Manager at the Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED). The position carries the status and responsibilities equivalent to the Deputy Secretary level and will be based at TRIFED’s Kolkata regional office.
As per the official notification, Ms. Sayeed has been assigned senior managerial responsibilities within the eastern regional operations of TRIFED. Her role will focus on strengthening marketing mechanisms for tribal products, ensuring effective implementation of central government livelihood schemes, and improving institutional coordination between state agencies and national-level TRIFED authorities.
Her appointment is expected to significantly enhance TRIFED’s operational outreach across West Bengal and neighboring eastern states. With the induction of a seasoned IRS officer, the federation aims to improve governance efficiency, streamline procurement and supply networks, and expand market access for tribal artisans, producers, and self-help groups.
Officials believe that Ms. Sayeed’s leadership will play a crucial role in accelerating income generation initiatives for tribal communities while reinforcing transparency and accountability within TRIFED’s eastern zone operations.
